The Place Where Business and Ministry Blend…Perfectly!

OK, you’ve heard it all before, I’m Prof Mark. You are here and I’m grateful for that.  You could be a lot of places but I’d like to think that you and I might begin to think and act as one…Now that may sound a bit scary, but here is what I’m talking about:  My heart is for you and me to blend our businesses into ministry — for our ministry to be an extension of our business.  What does that entail?

What do I mean by “Blended Perfection”?

The short definition is this: Your business is meant to earn you a living but also – MORE importantly it IS a platform FOR ministry to a lost world needing Christ.  You DO business to earn money (lots of money is fine) and then you also reach out THROUGH your business.  The idea here is to develop and maintain a heart and mind (worldview) that recognizes that all that we are, all that we own, all that we have accomplished, every skill and all that we’ve learned, BELONGS to the Lord.  It is HIS and we are simply His workmen (Eph. 2).  We must understand that there will come a day when we will look back and realize that our time here on earth was EXCEEDINGLY short – whether we lived 92+ years or our lives were much, much shorter.  In either case, compared to eternity, our years on earth were little more than a blink of an eye…and as such, there is nothing better that we can do that to expend ourselves in His service – wherever we are and whatever we are doing.
Let me also clarify something:  Have you heard the phrase, “All truth is God’s truth?”  In a nutshell that means that because God IS TRUTH, anytime and anywhere that you see, hear, experience or apply some truth, IT belongs to, is associated with and comes FROM God.  You see, all truth is not JUST spiritual, it’s also math, science, and relational concepts, etc.  By the way, I’m NOT talking about NEW-AGE stupidity here, I’m talking about a God who created it ALL and therefore OWNS it all – and that includes business truths.  All throughout this site and in each of the current products OR those in development, they are based on truth – not necessarily scripture but principles that WORK, because they are true.  For just as the rain falls on the just and the unjust, so truths work for both as well.  Good solid principles that work in business – work for all.  That seems self-evident, BUT I want you to know that I do not and will not “baptize” my products and make you think that they somehow come with God’s “super-blessing” just because they have some spiritual content in them.  God may or may not add His blessing to your efforts, but I assure you that what you get when you read my materials or products is a heart of Biblical integrity, NOT a prosperity Gospel. I have no problem with prosperity; rather my problem is with the baptizing of concepts, products and ideas with prosperity blessings that supposedly guarantee wealth.  That I take issue with.  THIS much I do know: If you work really hard you are MUCH more likely to succeed than if you’re lazy.
So the plan should be to NOT expect a spiritual “Easy Button”, but rather to use and APPLY as much of God’s truth – scripture and all other as possible, and then work like a dog and see what happens.
To better understand the idea of blending business and ministry, take a few moments to read the short articles  in the link above: “Christians in the Marketplace”.
The fact that you are here says that you either have a business or want to start one.  That also means that you are not in full-time ministry and THAT is partly what I’m trying to convey.  We are ALL in the ministry…perhaps not pastors slugging out another sermon to equip the saints; or missionaries braving the “wilds” to get the message of the Gospel out to the un-reached.  No, we are here (wherever “here” may be) and THAT is MORE than OK.  It is perfectly where God would have us to be UNTIL and unless He has us to BE somewhere else.  So, let’s get to BEING all that we can BE right where we are.

My plan is to develop this site in order that it can be a catalyst for you and me both.  A catalyst to DO business and DO ministry – Are you ready?
